Wilda A. Howard (Bell) Peacefully went home to be with her Lord, on December 7, 2011.

She was born on July 21, 1949 to Mildred and Wilbur Howard in Wadsworth, Ohio.

She was a graduate of Wadsworth High School and went on to be the Ombudsman for the Department of Job and Family Services for Summit County for 30 years. She was the first black woman to be elected President of a City Council in Medina County. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Medina

She leaves to cherish her; her children, daughter Robinette Vetter (Eric) of Akron and two sons, Malachi (Amy), and Brandon, both of Medina. Grandchildren Britni, Latresa, Kyah, Chelsi, Athena, Malachi IV, Juston, Brian and one great-grandson, Treyton, along with her brothers and sisters Wilbur (Treasa) of Wadsworth, Gerald (Paulette) of Phoenix, Gregory (Cindy) of Akron, William of Atlanta, Lois (Andrew) Calbert of Ann Arbor and Rubi (Sterling) Medley of Medina; former spouse, Malachi Bell, Jr; special great-nieces Jaylin Howard and Keilani and Maddisen Medley and a host of nieces, nephews and special friend Rev. Cornell P. Carter, among others.

Family will receive friends Monday, December 12, from 2-8:00 PM at Second Baptist Church, 451 Bronson Street, Medina.

Service will be held 11:30 AM, Tuesday, December 13th at the church. Rev. Cornell Carter and Rev. Russell Burden will officiate.

Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wadsworth. Waite & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
