On August 5, 1984 Ramona and her husband Dick were on the way back to Jackson from Adrian, MI after dinner with another couple. A man who had worked a 34 hour shift was on his way home and fell asleep at the wheel, while traveling on U.S 223. Dick tried to avoid him but could not. While Dick and the other couple were severely injured, Ramona who was sleeping in the back driver's side seat, was killed instantly. She was the love of my grandma's cousin Dick's life. He was never the same after she died.
