Daughter of Louis Porter and Lennie Minor Porter. Miss Porter collapsed and died as she supervised the children on the playground at Rothville Elementary School where she was teaching. Miss Porter apparently had been in good health.
During her teaching career she had taught at many different schools, some of which were Plyer, Lagonda, Keytesville, Downer, Hayes, Westville, Brewer, Coleman, Barnes, Osceola and Glenwood. Miss Porter had lived in the Bynumville community until about a year before her death, when she moved to Marceline where she lived with her mother. She was a member of the Mt. Zion EUB Church. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion EUB Church in Bynumville with the Rev. Bill Haley conducting the services.
Pallbearers: Gary Porter, Gail Brewer, Phil Porter, Wm. Beale, Lucian Porter, and Alwyn Porter.
