Sharon Rollins

Sharon Jean (Jordan) Thornton Rollins, 65, of Leon, W.Va., passed away Aug. 20, 2010, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Aug. 5.

She was born Jan. 15, 1945, in Parkersburg, a daughter of Clara M. (Jackson) Barton of Belpre, Ohio, and the late Gene K. Jordan. Her first husband, Paul Lee Thornton, granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Simkins, and a great-granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Simkins, also preceded her in death.

She was a former housekeeper for McCoy's Motor Lodge and Hartley Manufacturing. She was also a former employee of the sewing factory in Silverton, and she attended Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle on Chestnut Ridge.

In addition to her mother, other survivors include her husband, Eunice Rollins; sons and their wives, Paul and Nancy Thornton, Earl Lee and Tangie Thornton and Claude Gene and Terry Thornton, all of Leon; brothers and their wives, William and Kathy Campbell of Leon and John K. and Stephanie Jordan of Beckley; sisters and their husbands, Sandra and Jimmy Hamilton of Coolville, Ohio, Gail and Francis Rectenwald of Sandyville and Rebecca and Charles Sargent of Harrisonburg, Va.; grandchildren, Navid Lee and Jennifer; great-grandson, Darion Simkins; stepfather, Bruce Barton; stepmother, Beverly Jordan; stepdaughters and their husbands, Linda and Randal Pierson and Crystal and Phillip Neibergall; stepbrothers, Johnny and his wife, Norita Barton, and George Barton; step grandson, Hunter Neibergall; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, W.Va, with the Rev. Charles Sargent officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery, Leon.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
