John J. Murray Dies at 96
John J. Murray, one of Lowell's oldest residents, died last night at the Fort Hill Nursing home. He was 96. Mr. Murray was born here in Lowell, the son of the late John J. and Ellen Flanagan. For many years he was a caretaker at the Notre Dame Academy.
He made his home at 91 Canton street and was an attendant of St. Margaret's parish. He was a member St. Margaret's Holy Name society and last Sunday was presented with a 50 year membership plaque.
Mr. Murray is survived by a nephew, Walter J. Murray; three grandnieces, with whom he made his home for many years, Miss Anna M. Donohoe, Miss Mildred E. Donohoe, and Miss Catherine I. Donohoe; and two grand nephews, Ronan J. and Vincent G. Donohoe.
