Willie Hardy "Bill" Carey, 101, of Sweetwater, died on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Reverend James Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.

Bill was born on June 25, 1910 in Weatherford, Texas. Bill was a farmer and rancher and had lived in Nolan and Mitchell counties all his life. He attended the Church of Christ in Roscoe.

He is survived by: son, Austin Carey and wife, Lillian, of Austin, Texas; 1 sister, Faye Tumlinson of Sweetwater; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Betty Lou Allen of Reno, NV; and numerous step grandchilden, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Hattie Carey, wife, Annie Mae Barton Carey and Clairene Connor Carey, 2 sisters, 6 brothers, and a step-son.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Luther Martin.
