Billie married Houston Thomas "Tommy" Walker on Novermber 15, 1954 in Alice, Texas. She worked as a Chiropractor before joining her husband as the bookkeeper and secretary of A & W Plumbing. She also helped her husband with his dairy cow operation. Billie loved to cook and care for her family and friends. It was not uncommon for her to cook up a feast for hungry rodeo and horse show participants in the very early morning hours. She enjoyed tending her garden and canning the produce. Billie organized many youth events in the Gonzales Youth Rodeo Assn.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Walker of Gonzales, daughters and sons-in-law, Annet and Andrew Wilke of Cost, Karen and Steven Carroll of Gonzales, sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Lee and Reatha Walker of Smithville, Dale and Krista Walker of Odenton, MD, Bill Walker of Gonzales, Richard and Wilhelmina Walker of Belmont, Cecil and Rhonda of Laredo, grandchildren, Andrew Locke, Chris Locke, Melanie Foster, Becky Reynolds, Jenny Manning, Clayton Walker, Sandi Walker, Stephanie Daggs, Mandee Walker, Miranda Carroll, Wendy Nathan, Lisa Dawson, Taylor Walker, Brittany Walker, Bethany Wilke, Kara Wilke and Amy Walker, great grandchildren, Joseph Lugo, Tyler Wells, Jewell Foster, McKaen Foster and Ashton Walker.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, daughter, Debbie Lamb, sisters, Margaret Youngman, Mary Newman, Betty Hendrick and Lucy Wheeler.
Funeral services were help at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with pastor Andy Smith officiating. Interment was in Gonzales Memorial Park. Pall Bearers were John Henry Wilkinson, Mike Svoboda, Richard Richter, Robbie Connell, Mike Walker, and Mark Walker.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn. or any local 4H Youth Project.
