Alfred Elmer Elisha Cave was the son of Charles Samuel Cave and Clara Maud Heffler.

Alfred was killed in the Halifax Explosion with three of his siblings and baby cousin. One of his sisters, Irene Lillian and their parents survived.

At the time of the Explosion, the family lived at 34 Veith Street, Halifax.
It is believed that the surviving members of the family moved out of Halifax shortly after.

Alfred is buried with his siblings and cousin in St. John's Cemetery, Halifax.
