Plymouth Area Crash Claims Second Victim-A fatal traffic accident on Sat. has claimed its second victim and boosted the Sheboygan County toll to 11 for the year.
Louis A. Ott, 81, of the Town of Plymouth, died Tue. afternoon (Aug 24, 1971) at Plymouth Hospital where he had been listed in critical condition with a concussion, lacerations and internal injuries.
His wife, Louise, 79, was killed in the crash (Aug 21 1971).
Mr. Ott was driving the car when it struck a bridge abutment three miles southwest of Plymouth. The mishap occurred at 4:10 p.m. on Pioneer Road.
Dr. Robert A. Keller, deputy coroner for Sheboygan County, said Mrs. Ott’s death was caused by multiple fractures.
The 11th traffic death recorded in Sheboygan County last year occurred in September. There were 23 traffic fatalities in the county last year.
Born April 6, 1890 in the Town of Plymouth, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ott.
On Oct. 18, 1911 he married the former Anna Helmer in Plymouth. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of Lyndon, Town of Plymouth and on the homestead in the Town of Plymouth in 1952. She died Oct 20, 1955
On Nov. 7, 1956 he married Mrs. Louise (Kraemer)Griesheim.
He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Plymouth; the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau, the Hub City Fraternal Order of Eagles, and was a member of the board of directors of the Farmers Equity Co-op, Plymouth.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Reinhold (Hazel) Putz of Sheboygan Fall; a son, Gilbert of the Town of Lyndon; two step-daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Schroeder of Plymouth and Mrs. Byron (LaVerna) Schultz of Town of Mitchell; a stepson, Gerald Grossheim of Town of Greenbush; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl of Sheboygan and a sister, Mrs. Floyd Payne of Plymouth. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at First Congregational UCC, Plymouth, the Rev. Lowell Ferguson officiated. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
