W. Fred Burnette, 70, of 208 North Market Street, Carmichaels, died in his home after a long illness at 7:40 a.m. Sunday,June 30, 1963. Mr. Burnette, a son of William Henry Burnette and Jennie Sharpnack Burnette, was born April 20, 1893, at Carmichaels. He worked for a number of years at the Crucible Mine and was a member of the Crucible Local United Mine Workers of America. He had also worked for a number of years as an automobile mechanic at Carmichaels. Mr. Burnette was a member of First United Methodist Church of Carmichaels. Surviving are his wife, Mary (Mayme) Crago Burnette, whom he married in 1910; two daughters, Ruth, wife of Joseph C. Stewart of Wheeling, W. Va., and Mary Jane, wife of William 'Scotty' Groves, of Carmichaels; three sons, Leonard C. Burnette of Lafayette, Ind., William H. Burnette of Carmichaels and Frank S. Burnette of Cleveland, Ohio; and three grandchildren. A son, Robert Fred, died in infancy.

Friends of W. Fred Burnette, of 208 North Market Street, Carmichaels, who died Sunday, June 30, 1963 will be received at 3 p.m. Monday in the Paul Lesako Funeral Home, Carmichaels, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday July 3, by Rev. George O. Elgin, Jr. Burial in Laurel Point Cemetery.
