I don't know how or when my Grandma came to the United States, all I know is that she eventually settled in Chicago.
The children of Stephen and Rose Palenica: Rose & Stephen (twins), Esther, Geraldine, John and Ethel.
The grandchildren of Stephen and Rose Palenica: Alana, Tom, Lori and Richard Zygadlo. Ricky, Edward, Stephen, Michael, Sharon and Frank Palenica. Patricia, Esther and Janell Lisek. Marla Urbanek. John and Nancy Palenica. Kathy and Karen Wokeck.
Rose had over 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Rose cherished her two Chihuahuas: Chico and Pepe.
Stephen and Rose divorced in 1945. Rose married John Baubin in 1946. They were married over 26 years at the time of Rose's death.
Rose had two sisters: Mae and Josephine Kowalczyk
Rose was of Roman Catholic faith and attended several area churches.
Rose worked as a caterer and for the Goldblatt's Department Store.
Rose was a Die Hard Cubs fan; but, hated Jack Brickhouse.
Rose enjoyed cooking, bingo, playing cards, horse racing, yahtzee, crocheting and embroidery.
Visitation will be held at Palenica Funeral Home, 1945 West 48th Street.
