Mrs. Romaine Byers, age 56, of R. D. 1, Canonsburg, died Wednesday, March 23, 1966, at 12:31 a.m.. in Canonsburg General Hospital.
Born December 11, 1909, in East Finley Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Curtis and Elizabeth Doman Plants.
She was a resident of North Strabane Township for 27 years.
Mrs. Byers was a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church; Truth Student Class and Esther Circle of the church; Leader of Log Cabin 4-H Club; and the Linden Recreation Club.
Surviving are: her husband, Harold L. Byers; two sons, Richard Douglas Byers, at home; Robert Kenneth Byers, R. D. 1; three daughter, Dorothy, wife of Joseph Oiler, R. D. 4, Washington; Evelyn, wife of Howard Bruce, Langeloth; Nancy Darlene, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Freda Newcomer, Williamsport; Mrs. Marian Rollin, England; Mrs. Pearle Marlow, Falls Church, Virginia; Mrs. Hazel Knox, Washington; two brothers, Irving Eugene Plants, Williamsport; Harry Plants, Blairsville; 11 grandchildren.
A brother, Glenn Plants, is deceased.
