Leo Frederick Bessire, 80, was born October 10, 1902 to Oscar Julius and Elisa Bessire in El Reno, OK and passed from this life Thursday, April 7, 1983 in the Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, KS; following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Bessire came to Roger Mills County as an infant with his parents. He was married to Lula Pryle Jackson in Rankin, OK on February 23, 1924. They made their home in the area until Mrs. Bessires death when Mr. Bessire moved to Ulysses, KS to be near his son. He was a member of the Reydon United Methodist Church and a retired rancher farmer.

In addition to his wife those who preceded Mr. Bessire in death were his parents, 1 infant daughter, Yvonne, 1 sister and 5 brothers.

Survivors are 1 son, Roy Gene of Ulysses, KS; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Garland Spurgin conducted the funeral services Monday, April 11, 1983 at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist church of Reydon with interment following in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers were: Troy Garver, Leo Swuope, Jr.; D.L. Jackson, Aoren Jackson, Bill Shelton and Frank Hubbard.

Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne were in charge of arrangements.
