Obituary
Betty M. Dozard, age 85, of East Peoria, passed away Thursday Nov. 24, 2011 at 3:30 a.m. at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born June 21, 1926 in Peoria to Robert E. and Minnie H. (Cain) Gebhart. She married Walter L. Dozard Oct. 31, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. He passed away Jan. 27, 2010 in Morton.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Wayne E. Dozard, one brother, David Gebhart, one sister, Mildred J. McMullin, and one great-grandson, C.J. Franklin.
Survivors include two sons: Larry A. (Linda) Dozard and Tracy L. (Peggy) Dozard both of East Peoria, one daughter, Theresa U. (Jack) Metz of Tremont, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Betty first went to work for B & M in the office. Later she was an election judge for Tazewell County for 33 years. Betty also volunteered at Don D. Shute Elementary School in East Peoria.
Funeral services will be Monday Nov. 28, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to T.A.P.S. or to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
