Elton Jr. was a tool and die maker and was working in a metal works in Battle Creek, MI. in 1936. His family called him Bud and he as a veterians head stone. He married Peggy Or Glady KELLEY or KELLY who might have been from ?Hastings, Barry Co., MI My mother, Donna Baker, told me that Peggys father drowned and that he owned a store in Hastings, Barry Co., MI. She also said that the family had lived their a long time.

When fighting with her husband, Elton, who we all called Bud, Peggy said that their child (Robert "Bobbie")didn't belong to him. They were later divorced. Peggy and Robert visited Elton's parents(Elton Channing Baker and Pearl Gifford) at their farm in Coldwater, Calhoun Co., MI. Robert "Bobbie" stayed a week there, when he was about eight years old, and they also visited when Elton and Pearl lived at 212 Duryears Pt. Mi. Center, Jackson Co., MI. (Very unusal if the child has no blood connection.) My grandmother, Pearl, always kept their pictures in our family album and believed that Bobby was her first grandson. I have not been able to find him. Robert would have been born around 1940 or latter. If Bobbie ever finds this, I have tried to leave a good trail for you to follow to find your roots. God knows where you are, and I will too, some day. "Bobby attended Howl or Howe Military School.
