Niccole V. "Nikki" (Gomm) Halpin, of Safety Harbor FL, a former Acton MA resident, died Jan. 11, at the Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. She was 32.

She was born in Mannassas VA on June 20, 1971, a daughter of Nelson R. and Laureen A. (Shaughnessy) Gomm of Dracut MA. She received her education in the Acton school system and graduated from Acton High School in 1989. She later attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her sons Maxwell J. and Drew Halpin, both of Safety Harbor; sister Jennifer and her husband Jeff Dyer of Merrimack NH; niece Madison M. and nephew Jared J. Dyer of Merrimack; and aunts Jayne Joyce and husband Richard of Andover MA, and Ginny Bills and husband Kris of Dedham MA.

Mrs. Halpin's organs were donated to aid the lives of 11 people, according to her family members.

An ex-boyfriend murdered Nikki Halpin. Her family agreed to allowing the offender to accept a plea bargain where he would plead guilty to second-degree murder and receive a 25-year prison sentence so her sons wouldn't have to testify at a trial.
