Dola, 96, of DeWitt, died Friday. In loving memory of our Mother and Grandmother, who passed away.

She was born to Arthur L. and Grace L. (Baker) Thompson. Helen was very active in many civic activities in Lansing and Watertown Township. She was also a long-time member of Catholic Community of St. Jude.

She was preceded in death by her husband James A.; 2 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one half-sister and one half-brother; and her parents.

Surviving are her 4 children, James H. (Helene) Reck, Nancy L. Habdas, John D. Reck, and Robert D. (Mary Ellen) Reck; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law; 2 half-sisters Norma and Barbara; and many close friends.

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave When life is done.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, DeWitt, MI with Rev. Dwight M. Ezop officiating. A Scripture Service was
held.

Those desiring may make contributions to the Catholic Community of St. Jude.

The family would like to thank both TenderCare West and Sparrow ICU staffs for their kind and compassionate care.

Arrangements by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, DeWitt, MI.
