Daily Local News, West Chester, Chester County, PaDecember 13, 1954Warren J. Broomall, familiarly known by many of his friends as "Champ" passed away in the Veteran's Hospital, Coatesville on Saturday morning.Son of the late Jason D. and Ellen Finn Broomall of West Chester, he served in the Army in World War I and had been ill for many years. In his youth he was a well known local baseball player being an excellent lefthand pitcher.He was called by both the Athletics and Phillies for a tryouot but preferred to stay in West Chester to play for well known local teams. he eneded his baseball career playing in the Delaware County League on the Media team when "Home Run" Baker was playint on the Upland team of the same league.Surviving Mr. Broomall are two sisters, H. Mary Nields and Beatrice D., and one brother, Henry B. Broomall.Ibid:BROOMALL- In Coatesville, Pa., on Dec. 11, 1954, Warren J., son of the late Jason D. and Ellen Finn Broomall.Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, West Chester, on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 9 a.m. Solemn Requiem Mass at St. Agnes' Church at 10 o'clock. Interment St. Agnes' Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening.
