Elton Hugh Krause, age 88, of Spicewood, Texas, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

He was born April 14, 1923 in Spicewood, Texas to Clifton and Minnie Krause.

Elton was preceded in death by his loving wife Jane, his parents, his brother Cliff Krause and his sisters Helen Hardin & Eloise Hudson.

He is survived by his three sons, Hugh Krause & wife Teresa, David Krause & Debbie Townsend and Terry Krause and wife Joanne; his sister-in-law Martha Jean Butler; sister-in-law Marilyn Butler; sister-in-law Juanita Krause; brother-in-law Jim Hudson; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In 1955 Elton & Jane were given the opportunity to purchase one of the most unique properties in the state of Texas just three miles from his early childhood home. Seven years later, Krause Springs was opened to the public. With much love, dedication, sacrifice and pure hard work, Elton and his family have maintained and enhanced this special place for 56 years. Thousands of visitors arrive each year to soak in the healing spring water, rest under the ancient cypress trees, stroll through the eclectic garden and enjoy the company of loved ones in this little slice of heaven.
