Mrs. John Shields
Mrs. Ella Sarah Shields, 96, 1232 Forest, died at 5 a.m. today at Fair Acres where she had been a resident five years. She had been in failing health several years.
Born, July 25, 1877 at Chilicothe (sic), Mo., she came to Carthage in 1932 from Enid, Okla. She was married to John Shields July 7, 1900, at Pawnee, Okla. He died in 1952. She was a member of Enid, Okla., Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John Dunkle, 1232 Forest; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great granchildren.
She was the last survivor of a family of 12 children.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 Monday at Ulmer Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
