He was the son of the late Harold and Cora Andrews. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Greer, and he also had worked as a coal miner, mechanic and truck driver. Member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church at Gladesville.Survived by his wife of four years, Jo Ann Knight Andrews; one son Shawn; three daughters Sharon, Vickie, Marlene, three brothers, the Rev. Jarvis Andrews, James Leonard Andrews, and Charles Andrews; four sisters, Vida Sinsel, Belle Wolfe, Cora Dunt, and Ester Brewer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcinia, of 35 years; and two brothers, Virgil and Clint Andrews. Friends will be received at the residence of Clarence G. Andrews at Independence on Friday, Oct. 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Viewing on Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m. time of service at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donald Whiteman officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the gravesite. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Waldeck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
