David Ashby Williams, 90, of Front Royal, Va. passed away September 11, 2005 at the V. A. Nursing Home in Martinsburg, WV.

Funeral service held, September 14, 2005 at Turner-Robertshaw Chapel.

Burial with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 2123 of Winchester, Va. will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Mr. Williams was born on September 20, 1914 in Reager, Va., son of Ernest and Nettie Williams.

Mr. William served with the U. S. Army Remount in Front Royal, from 1934-1939. Drafted for WWII in 1942, he was wounded in France where he received the Purple Heart and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge.

He married Bertha F. Alger in December 1941.

Surviving with his wife are two sons; Donald G. Williams of Rileyville, Va. and Duane A. Williams and wife Margaret of Front Royal, Va.; six grandchildren: Sandra Tuttle and husband Randy of Virginia Beach, Va., Mark Williams and wife Lauren of Valdosta, GA., Angela Vickers and husband
Rodney of Randellman, NC, Kim Ketterman and husband Tim of Maurertown, VA, Eric Williams and wife Jennifer of Strasburg, Va. and Christopher Williams of Stanley, Va. eight great-grandchildren; Jack Tuttle, Jaden Williams, Olivia Ketterman, Andrew and Will Vickers, and Caden, Logan and Trent Williams.
Also surviving is one brother, Albert Williams of Chester Gap, Va.

Pallbearers will be Roy Drummonds, Roy Jackson, Gary Williams, Ronnie Morris, Floyd Lilly and Terry Cave.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Glenn Williams, Roy Williams, Steven Williams, Randy Williams, Greg Williams and Roger Morris.
