Sanford Frazee was born Nov. 10, 1830, in Brown Co., OH, the son of John Frazee and Sarah Derry; grandson of John Derry and Anna Rardin; John Frazee and Esther Shipman. Orphaned at an early age, Sanford was taught the saddler trade by Larkin Day in Clermont Co., OH. By 1860, Sanford and Jennie, his wife, were in Anador Co. CA. Later they moved to Sacramento Co. where Jennie died in 1866. About 1870, Sanford married Lenora (Luna). They had one son John Sanford Frazee.
