Leona Wilson was born in Ben Hur, Limestone Co, Texas, on the summer solstice of 1896, along with her twin sister, Viola. They were told by their parents that they were so small that they could fit them in a cigar box, and their father could put his wedding ring around their wrists. They were the firstborn of their parents, Cal & Belle Wilson. Soon a sister, Ruth, followed. Shortly thereafter, they all moved to Visalia, California, where four brothers were born: Ewell, Paul, Orval, & Herman. And last was a baby sister, Lois in Dec 1916.

Leona married LeRoy Alfred Miller on 14 Jun 1916, and their first child was born on their first anniversary, followed by two more children within the next ten years. She became a grandmother at age 45.

Leona remained a homemaker all her life, but also took care of her grandchildren often during their formative years. She was active in her church and was a great influence, sharing her faith by actions. She was a caretaker for many during illnesses. Often busy in her yard, she enjoyed gardening. She always had a warm hug for her family.

Leona became a widow in 1985, when her husband of almost 69 years passed away two months shy of his 100th birthday. She lived another nine years before joining him in Heaven with her beloved Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

Written by a grateful granddaughter whose life was changed because of her witness, steadfast love, and prayers.

WILSON-MILLER NUPTIALS
CELEBRATED IN CITY
YESTERDAY
-----------
Newly-Wedded Couple to
Make Their Home in
La Grange
------
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the M. E. parsonage in this city at 5:30 yesterday evening when Miss Leona Alva [Elva] Wilson of this city became the bride of Leroy Alfred Miller of La Grange, the Rev. Clyde P. Metcalf officiating in charge of the simple ceremony which united these excellent young people in the bonds of matrimony.

The new Mrs. Miller is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cal Wilson, who reside on East Mineral King. She has grown to womanhood in the vicinity of Visalia and has won a warm spot in the hearts of all the younger set by her sweet disposition and womanly ways. Her twin sister, Miss Viola Wilson, is a resident of the city proper and one of the most popular girls within its borders.

The groom was formerly identified, for a number of years, with the interests of the Mt. Whitney Power & Electric Company at this place, where he first met his future bride. He is the son of Mrs. Mary Miller of Peoria, Illinois. During his residence in Visalia he made many warm friends among her citizenship who will be more than glad to join the "Times" in extending congratulations.

MISS LEONA WILSON
IS NOW MRS MILLER

Miss Leona Elva Wilson yesterday afternoon became the wife of LeRoy Alfred Miller, formerly of this city, the Rev. Clyde P. Metcalf officiating. Immediately after the ceremony the newlyweds left for the north. The future home of the young couple is near La Grange where Mr. Miller is connected with the Yosemite Power company. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Wilson. She has a host of friends as is quite natural with a sweet pretty girl who has spent most of her life here. Her many friends will regret that her marriage is taking her away from Visalia. The groom was locally identified with the Mt. Whitney Power and Electric company for a number of years and has a wide circle of friends. He is a son of Mrs. Mary Miller of Peoria, Ill.
