Henry H. Kroshus was born on the home farm in Mary Township, Norman County, MN to Halvor Anderson Kroshus and his wife, Kjerstie Gulbrandsdatter Melbostad Kroshus 28 Sep 1882. Henry was the sixth of their fourteen children to be born to them.

He was baptized at the Bethania Lutheran Church 5 Nov 1882. His sponsors were Birger Lee, Olina Lee, John Gaare and Pauline Kroshus. He was confirmed at the Bethania Lutheran Church 7 Nov 1899.

Henry grew up on the home farm and attended local school. He farmed in the Perley area all of his life.

Henry married Julia Vandermeer of Georgetown 10 Nov 1914 at Moorhead, MN.

He was well known in the Perley area and took part in community affairs. The family made the Bethania Lutheran Church, rural Perley, their church home.

Five children were born to Henry and Julia. Of those five, three lived to adulthood. Their children are: Cecil Tremaine 1 Nov 1916-5 Nov 1995, Jewell Leonard 29 Jun 1919-3 Nov 1989, Helen Adeline 23 Jan 1922-7 Oct 2004 (Ilton Sylvester Thorpe, Sr. 22 Jan 1919-26 Dec 2000), Infant Son 1924-1924 and Theodore 28 May 1926-29 May 1926.

Henry Kroshus passed away Monday, Sep. 18, 1950 at the age of 67 of a sudden heart attack. Funeral services for him were 23 Sep 1950 at the Bethania Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas Anderson officiating.
