Janice L. (Flossie) Honaker, age 58 of the Baptist Valley section of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, laid down to finally rest in peace on Tuesday morning, November 1, in an Abingdon, VA hospital. After a life-time battle with different diseases, including diabetes and Addison's disease, our precious Savior, Jesus Christ, finally gave her sleep. She now awaits His return. She was a member of Bandy Chapel Church of the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Louise Mitchell and father, Aurthur W. Mitchell.
She is survived by husband, Alan Honaker; son, Walton (Boo) Honaker, and very special friend and companion Madison Blankenship and her parents, Teresa and Jeff Blankenship.
She is also survived by two brothers, Troy and Carl Mitchell and one sister, Laura Young.
Flossie is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, and many friends who grew near to her and loved her over the years.
The family would like to take time to offer special thanks to the family of the late Dr. H.C. Scott for all he did for her in the 1980's and 90's.
Also to all employees at Russell County Dialysis in Lebanon, VA.
Also very special thanks and appreciation to the owner and all employees of Mercy Ambulance Service, Lebanon, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Brother Barry Jessee officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Jeff Cordle, Eddie Jessee, Jeff Blankenship, Matt Johnson, Larry Avent and Eric Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Christian, Gene Harrison, Jacob Harrison, Keith Harrison, Leo Barnett and Jerry Settle.
