Marion Fay Whiting, 52, resident of Converse County for thirty-four years, died in St. Luke's hospital at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. He had gone to Denver last Thursday seeding medical aid, having been ailing for several months with kidney trouble. He was born January 11, 1883 at Ithaca, New York, the son of John I. and Hattie Bovare Whiting. When a young man he moved to Pennsylvania. In 1901 he came to Converse County. He established a ranch home on Walker Creek in 1912, and became a successful stockman in that section. On May 13, 1913 he was married to Emma Hartman, who survives him. Surviving also are three sons, Marion Jr., Adolph and Edward, all residents at the family home. A sister, Mrs. Nelson Bacon of Peekskill, N.Y. and a brother, Glenn Whiting of New York state, also survive.
