Adolph O. "Bubs" Whiting, 77, a resident of Douglas, died Saturday, April 30, 1994 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was born June 8, 1916 in Douglas, the son of Marion Fay and Emma (Hartmann) Whiting. He was reared and educated in the Walker Creek area north of Douglas. He was married to Ruth Numrich on Nov. 13, 1937 in Deadwood, S.D. at which time he ranched. He entered the United States Marine Corps, serving in World War II. He then returned to Douglas to his ranch. He bought a ranch west of Orpha, Wyo. in 1946. He also did dirt contracting work. He retired in 1974, moving to town in 1990. He is survived by his wife Ruth Whiting of Douglas; sons, Joe Whiting and his wife Karen; and Jim Whiting and his wife Pat, all of Douglas; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
