Jefferson and his wife Stella had 16 children. Jefferson worked at many jobs to provide for his children, but he was a farmer at heart. He lost all his money in the bank failures of the 30's and was never able to buy his own farm. He and his family lived on a farm owned by a son in law. He was gored or crushed by a bull as he was herding a cow into the barn. Jefferson died at Marion General Hospital.

Infants whose burial is unknown: Eliza Mae Worshsm 1907-1908, Verge Worshsm 1921 (died same day).
