Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Grace Pierce Kent, age 93, of Swainsboro, GA, who died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Funeral services are Saturday, December 5th, at 11AM, in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Blankenship officiating.

Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Friday evening from
6 – 8 PM.

Pallbearers are Tyson Stephens, Edwin Fulghum, Gene Hall, Larry Boyd, Edward Canady, Phil Wilson, Julian Sconyers and Rhett Blount.

Mrs. Kent, a native of Emanuel County, was co-owner and co-operator of Fashion Cleaners, a seamstress and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro and the Faithful Tel-Joy Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, John L. Kent and son, Wayne Kent.

Survivors include:

One Son and Daughter-In-Law: David and Martha Kent of Swainsboro, GA

Three Grandchildren: Kathy Jones of Swainsboro, GA, Kelly Smith of Piedmont, AL and Chris Kent of Savannah, GA

Three Great-Grandchildren: Tori Jones, Hunter Jones and Hannah Jones all of Swainsboro, GA

One Great-Great-Grandson: Bowen Clifton of Swainsboro, GA
