Evalena Garland Waters, age 73, died Wednesday, April 17, 1985 at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne following an extended illness. Evalena was born June 19, 1911 in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of John and Zettie Deane Hunter. She lived in Kansas until 1920 when her family moved to Midwest, Wyoming. She was married to Bud Garland May 24, 1930 at Midwest, Wyoming. They lived in Midwest until 1941, at which time they moved to Douglas. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1971 to live near her brother, and then in 1981 she moved to Cheyenne to be near her daughter. Evalena is survived by one daughter, Peaches Ireland of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sisters, Margie Stephens of Ft. Collins, Colo. and Cleo Goodrich of Douglas, Wyo.; three granddaughters and three great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1961; one son, Rex; two brothers, Jack and Wade; and one sister, Lorna.
