Jacob Walston, Coloma, Dies While at Work
COLOMA, Dec. 26-Jacob Walston, 58, a resident of Bainbridge and Coloma, route 1, dropped dead from a heart attack, about 11 a.m. Sunday, while at work at the Truscott Boat & Dock Co., in St. Joseph.
He was born Dec. 8, 1886, in Springfield, Ill., and came to the farm on which he resided, south of Coloma, two years ago from Chicago, Ill. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen, Masonic lodge, and Knights of Templar, all of South Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Cpl. George Walston, Albuquerque, N. M.; two daughters, Mrs. Mable Karsen, and Mrs. Lois Bridges, both of Chicago. Also four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2:30 p.m., at the Davidson funeral home. Interment will be in Coloma.
