STONEBORO, PA. – Elizabeth B. "Betty" Parsons, 90, of 20 Jones St., passed away at 9:38 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Butler Hospital in Butler, Pa.
She was born Jan. 7, 1921, in Coalburg, to Harold P. and Ida (Wilver) Bunnell.
She married Edwin Rothrock Parsons on Aug. 31, 1939, and he died May 7, 1975.
She was a legal secretary for 10 years in the attorneys office in Sandy Lake, Pa. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sandy Lake. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, having served as a secretary and treasurer and was treasurer for the Lakeview United Methodist World Outreach Missions. She baked for the church and other organizations. She was a library volunteer in Sandy Lake, a former board member for "Meals on Wheels" and she loved to play bridge.
She is survived by a son, James "Jim" E. Parson and his wife, Carla Ann of Suntree, Fla.; two daughters, Kay Louise Bayus and her husband, William of Hubbard and Deborah Lee Barbour and her husband, Donald of Stoneboro; a sister, Emily J. Conners of Oil City, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held today, Oct. 24, 2011, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St. in Stoneboro.
Funeral and committal services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. James G. Young, Lakeview United Methodist Church, Sandy Lake, officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
