Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 11am-1pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be at 1pm. Father Show Reddy Kasu and Stanley Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in Lynn City Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Helen Laverne Barton of 28 years. Mother Flora Mae Barton; sons, Stanley (Donna) Earl Barnett, Donald Wayne (Vangie) Barnett and James (Stephanie) Long; daughters, Cathy Barton, Pamela Kay, Debra Ann (Kenny) Campbell, Kimberly Mewburn, Melissa (James) Gilliland, Barbara Ann (Adrian) McNabb; brothers, Wallace (Bobbie) Barton, Johnny (Barbara) Barton ; sisters, Frances (Bill) Allred, Lillian ("Red") Sims. He was "Paw Paw" to twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son John David Barton and his father Verlie Barton.
