Northfield News - November 1990 --- John M. Malecha, 86, of Lonsdale died on Friday, Nov. 9, 1990 at the Mala Strana Nursing Home in New Prague. Malecha was born Jan. 22, 1904 to Thomas and Rose (Frejlach) Malecha in New Market and attended Lonsdale schools. On Nov. 15, 1927 he married Mary R. Barta. The couple lived in Erin Township until 1960 and then moved to Lonsdale. Malecha was a farmer and trucker. Surviving him are his wife, Mary; three daughters, Mary and husband Richard Hruska of Montgomery, Grace and husband Orville Kuchinka of Montgomery, and Patty and husband Larry Trcka of Lonsdale; two sons, Ray and wife Dorothy of Lonsdale and Don and wife Jane of Lonsdale; 35 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 11 at Whites Funeral Home in Lonsdale. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 12 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale with the Rev. Stan Kozlak as Mass celebrant. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale. Pallbearers were Richard Hruska Jr., Scott and Mike Malecha, Steve and Paul Trcka and Bruce Kuchinka.
