Christine Jumes was known as "Christine James" from 1933 through the 1940's. She entered and won several Chicago beauty contests and was named the first "Miss Television" by RCA in 1933-34 at the Chicago Century of Progress World's Fair. She was a professional model, dancer and dance instructor. She sang in treatre plays and at various night clubs and while perfoming in a Chicago night club she caught the eye of a newspaper writer, Ralph Bolander-Olson, whom she married in 1938. Ralph Bolander-Olson (died in 1960's) was a long time entertainment columnist for the CHICAGO TRIBUNE and other newspapers.
Christine was a talented member of the Swedish Artists of Chicago Society during the 1970's and early 80's, and was an art fair judge for Chicago's Andersonville Midsummer Festival Art Fair, Albany Park Art Fair, Northcenter Arts& Crafts Fair, and the Lincoln Square Art Fair. Christine Bolander-Olson was inducted in the Schurz High School Hall of Fame in 1984, in recognition of her achievements. She had graduated Schurz High School, Chicago, Illinois in 1929.
