MRS. BERTHA MAE SHAW
Of 3904 5th Ave., died at 8 a.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital where she was admitted Aug. 24. She was born at Cove Forge on Aug. 15, 1895, a daughter of William J. and Caroline (Gunnett) Treese and in 1911 married Arden Shaw. Surviving are seven children, Luther A., of Hollywood, Fla., W.E., at home, Alfred F., in California, Mrs. Grace Hess of the city, Mrs. Donna Snavely of Martinsburg, Mrs. Betty J. Knisely of Roaring Spring, and A. Blair of Sunbury, 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and five brothers and sisters, Jesse G., Alvin E., William T., and Mrs. Grace E. Pensyl of the city, and David Ed of Williamsburg. She was a member of the Altoona Bible Church and Golden Rule Bible Class. Friends will be received in the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home from 7 to 10 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. tomorrow.

SHAW--Services for Mrs. Bertha Mae Shaw of 3904 5th Ave., will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home by the Rev. Henry Kulp. Interment in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. Friends will be received in the funeral home from 7 to 10 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
