James was born March 24, 1931 in Dunkling County, Missouri to the union of William R. and Orlean Clark. They precede him in death. He was united in marriage at Cheyenne, Wyoming, December 11, 1953 to Edna E. (Weller) Clark. He and Edna both served in the United States Air Force, where he was a Sargent and she was a Captain. After the service they resided in Charleston, West Virginia where James worked for Proctor and Gamble. He then attended the University of Wyoming, there he received his degree in pharmacy. After schooling he owned and operated an ice cream shop in Cheyenne, making homemade ice cream. The family then moved to Lebanon, Mo, while in Lebanon he took over a vending machine business and he continued this for twenty years retiring in Joplin, Mo. He spent the last eight years in Baxter Springs running the Baxter Flea Market.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. He is survived by his wife Edna Clark of the home; one son James W. Clark and wife Jan of Joplin, Mo; two daughters Barbara (Clark) Fisher and husband Randy of Springfield, IL; and Sandra (Clark) Montoya and husband Frank of Cheyenne, WY; one sister Patricia Whitfield of Mountain Home, AR. Six Grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
