Jay T. Mourar of Cochranville
Jay T. Mourar, 89, of Cochranville and formerly of Newtown Square, died on Tuesday, October 15, 1999, at the Southern Chester County Hospital in West Grove.
He was the husband of the late Winona L. Shioun Mourar, who died in 1997, with whm he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Pughtown, he was the son of the lat I. Chester and Mary Loomis Mourar.
He served in the United States Air Force during World War II.
He owned and operated Jay T. Mourar Tree Service for 32 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a longtime member of HPPA (Horsemen's Benevolence Protection Association) and PBA (Pennsylvania Horse Breeder's Association). He was a horse breeder and owner for 75 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Lee Manchio of Cochranville; a brother Ogden Mourar of Pughtown; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, at the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, 550 Lawrence Road in Broomall.
Friends may call from 12:20 to 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at the Oakland Cemetery in West Chester.
