Katherine Lora Cowley was born on the 11th of July, 1897, in Jack County, Texas. Kate was the daughter of Melvin Othello 'Den' & Dora Miriah Mitchell Cowley, the fourth of nine known children. She married Charlie Dutwin Jordan around 1915 and raised four known children: Paschal A-1917, Ella A-1918, Jake L-1921 and Willie V-1922. Paschal is also referred to as Haskell. Kate was preceded in death only five days by her husband, both in August, 1946.
