BEAVER FALLS
David "Davie" W. Davis, 55, of Beaver Falls, passed from the arms of Marianne into the arms of his Father in Heaven, Monday, December 6, 2010, in Friendship Ridge, following a brief illness.
Born October 19, 1955, in Beaver Falls, to the late Frank Davis and Rena (Revelant) Davis Godlewski, he was a veteran having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He is retired from J&L Steel. He was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School Class of 1973 and in 1982 of CCBC with a Computer Drafting Degree. After high school, Davie made his way to the Hawaiian island of Oahu, where he was a beachcomber and where he met friends who resided next to James Taylor and Carly Simon. He would fish the ocean to feed himself. He loved the mountains and the ocean. He climbed over Diamond Head Volcano, in his bare feet, where they held concerts. Davie's interests were reading the Bible, music and caring for others. He was an avid golfer, playing for his high school team.
Surviving are his significant other, Marianne Hill, Beaver Falls; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Zacqueline D. Davis, Union City, PA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Valerie and Steve Matotek, New Brighton, and Nancy L. Owens, Mars; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sarah Davis, and a daughter, Eileen Davis, all of Monaca; two stepchildren and their spouses, Jada and Scott Thompson, Pittsburgh, and Derek and Boe Hill, Beaver Falls; ten grandchildren, Jason, Sean, Angelina, Guido, Tyler, Tommy, Cheyenne, Lizzy, Shayna and Wyatt; a great-grandson, Ethan; dear friends, Don Aber, Dave Burns, Wendall Turney and James Fulton, and his dog, Frisky.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in the LUTTON BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 1117 Fifth Ave., www.lutton funeralhome.com, with Rev. Donald W. MacNeil, of the Church of the Nazarene, New Brighton, officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.
The Special Unit will meet at 12:45 p.m. at the cemetery to present full military honors.
A special thank you goes out to family, friends, Dr. Shetty, the staff of Friendship Ridge and the nurses at Concordia.
