Delmus Eugene Bailey, 63, died Sept. 26, 2011 at NorthCrest Medical Center, Springfield. Mr. Bailey was born April 26, 1948 to Delmus Eugene Bailey Sr. and Rebecca Toliver. He professed a hope in God at an early age. He was a 1968 graduate of Bransford High School and was employed with Conwood L.P., Springfield, and Hail & Cotton. He had a enjoyed football and spending time with family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his sister, Wilma Elizabeth Thomas; brothers, Coy Dewayne Toliver and Robert Henry Toliver; stepfather, Coy Toliver, all of Springfield; an uncle, Charles Bailey of Cleveland, Ohio. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 1 at Greater South Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield with Rev. Samuel Stratton officiating. Burial was in Restlawn Cemetery, Cedar Hill. Members of the Bransford High School class of 1968 served as pallbearers. Survivors include his mother, Rebecca Toliver; two daughters, Briana Dunn and Takka Dunn; two sons, Delmus Dewayne Cantrell of Springfield and Shawn Cantrell of Arizona; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra and Debra Toliver of Springfield; a brother; Danny Toliver of Springfield; six aunts, Doris Bailey of Madison, Jeannie Gardner of Nashville, Eddie Mae Babbs, Bettye Jo Woodard and Mary Harris, all of Springfield; and uncles, Edward Bailey of Springfield, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
