Dockery, James R., 63, of Oakland, N.J. passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. James, formerly of Pompton Lakes and Kinnelon, worked as Coordinator of the Bergen County Medical Reserve Corps. James was a member of many agencies including the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute in Mahwah where was an Instructor. He was a dedicated member of the Oakland First Aid Squad, and one of their delegates to the 20th District. He was also a member of Skywarn, a ham radio operator, former member of the Hawthorne Caballeros, Oakland Junior Drum and Bugle Corp. and a veteran of Vietnam. James died in the line of duty following mandatory training to keep up his NJ EMT Instructor certification. James is survived by his wife Marilyn, their 6 children, Eric Duncan of Oakland, Keith Duncan of Coco Florida, Jason Duncan of Oakland, Patricia D DiOnofrio of Moore, So. Carolina, Christine Barrow of Kinnelon and James Dockery of Moore, So. Carolina. He was a proud grandfather to 14, and great-grandfather to 2. Visitation will be held at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, N.J. on Wednesday July 27, 2011 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 10 Am At the Funeral Home. Donation in lieu of flowers should be sent to: John Robert Walker Memorial Oakland First Aid Squad.
