VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA
Harry L. Shertz, a brother-in-law living at 623 North Main street, yesterday received word from C.M. Shertz, Gap, Penn., to the effect that Dr. Elton Rogers, formerly a well-known physician of Deer Lodge, had died in France of pneumonia contracted while on duty. He was a captain in the medical corps, having entered the service a year and a half ago.
His wife and three small children have been staying with her father at Gap and learn that Dr. Rogers died on the eve of his departure for home. He was well known in this city.

=====
Dr. Rogers, as I remember as a little boy, was a jolly fellow and kind of a robust man, always cheerful and was well-liked by everybody. He had to go to World War I, and the good doctor got the flu over there in France in l9l8, and he passed away.
