Phyllis M. Lovell-Pettis, age 72, died July 9, 2004 in Florida. Phyllis was born Oct. 14, 1931 in Wyandott, the daughter of Merle and Edith (Horrock) Knickerbocker. She retired from the State of Michigan, Dept. of Agriculture in 1990 after 23 years of service, and resided in Fort Myers, Florida for the past 15 years, moving there from Lansing.
Surviving are 3 children, Susie (Billy) Bergdolld of Evanston, IL, Steven DeWaters of Grand Ledge, Shari Horwath of Holt; 5 grandchildren, Jason (Andrea) DeWaters, Joshua Horwath, Jamie Horwath, Tamara Edelstein, Angela (Sherwood, Sr.) Jones; 5 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jerry (Jane) Knickerbocker of Osseo, Larry Knickerbocker of Olivet; sister, Shirley (Jerry) Wolf of Eaton Rapids and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids with Father Bennett Constantine officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Hope Hospice of fort Myers, FL in memory of Phyllis M. Pettis.
