Harrisburg Patriot News, October 18, 1942

William H. Hoerner, retired farmer and former school director of Lower Paxton Township died Saturday at his home near Lewisberry, York Co. He was 85.

A member of Shoop's Lutheran Church, Hoerner is survived by his wife, Eula L. Hoerner; six daughters, Mrs. W. J. Brighton of Colonial Park, Mrs. Harry Clay and Mrs. Arthur Harmon both of Linglestown, Mrs. Charles Zeiders of Beaver Station, Mrs. Ben Mader of Shellsville and Mrs. Ralph Fox of Colonial Park; two step-sons Cecil Nail of the US Army and Herman Nail of Harrisburg; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Habecker of Hummelstown; 43 grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren. Seven grandsons and one great-grandson are now in the armed forces.

Brief funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 at the H. R. Erney funeral home, Lewisberry with further services at 2:15 at Shoop's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ralph Casner of Union Deposit will officiate. Burial will be in Shoop's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7-9 p.m.Husband of Eula Lee Horner; son of Peter Horner and Susan Brenneman.
