Mildred Viola Brackney Minard Schlesinger, 97, of Clintondale, passed away on December 19, 2004 at the Mountain View Nursing Center in New Paltz, N.Y. Mrs. Schlesinger was born on March 2, 1907 in Harper, Ohio, the daughter of John William and Sarah "Sally" Elvira Moore Brackney. She had worked at Wallace Co. in Poughkeepsie until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of the Clintondale Friends Christian Church in Clintondale. Mrs. Schlesinger was predeceased by her first husband Harold William Minard Sr., who died in 1953 and her second husband Henry J. Schlesinger, who died in 1989. She was also predeceased by her son, Harold William Minard Jr. and two brothers, Ross Clyde Brackney and Aubrey Clayson Brackney. Mrs. Schlesinger is survived by her son John D. Minard and his wife Yvonne of Naples, Fla. and a daughter Sylvia Minard Rorschach of Clintondale and daughter-in-law Dorothy Minard of Highland; six granddaughters, Linda Indelicato, Susan McGinnis, Donna Quick, Cheryl Casciaro, Patty Miller, Diane DeMaio; and 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandsons. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Lloyd Cemetery. Memorial services will be on Thursday, December 23 at 7 p.m. at the Clintondale Friends Christian Church, Crescent Ave., Clintondale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Clintondale Friends Christian Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 105, Clintondale, NY 12515 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
