Alyce M. Sprenkle, 97, formerly of York, died Friday September 23, 2011, at her home in Parrish, Fla. She was the wife of George E. Sprenkle, who died in 1991. Together they founded York Sheet Metal Works in 1947.

Born in Friedens, Somerset County, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Raye (Brant) Spangler.

Mrs. Sprenkle graduated from Thompson's Business School in York. She was a resident of York for 60 years, was a member of Canadochly Evangelical and Reformed Church in Delroy, Pennsylvania and was a life member of Matinee Musical Club of York.

She is survived by a sister Helen; son Edward, daughter Janet; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of her life which will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Wolf's Evangelical Covenant Church, 4501 Wolf's Church Road, York.

Interment will be in St. Paul's Wolf's Church Cemetery following the service. Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
