MERCEDES, TX. - Maria R. Barroso, 92, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at Weslaco Rehab Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lazaro Barroso and a son, Benigno Barroso.
She is survived by one son, Victor (Gloria) Barroso, and one daughter, Guadalupe (Emilio) Mascorro. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rene (Noemi) Barroso, Rebecca (Saul) Sarmiento, Victor (Perla) Barroso, Jr., Lazaro Barroso, Rebecca (Joe) Montenegro and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place today, Wednesday from 10 am till 9 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7 pm at the funeral home chapel.
Funeral Mass will be said Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Mercedes.
Burial will follow at Ebony Grove Cemetery in Mercedes.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes.
