James Lukas Cooper, 30, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.

He was born in Bellefontaine on July 21, 1981, a son of Jeff (Cindy) Cooper of Bellefontaine and Joyce (Doug Wilcox) Grant Cooper of Russells Point.

He is survived by a son, James Landen of Bellefontaine; a brother, Jacob (Candace) Cooper of Lakeview; stepbrothers, Austen Pulfer of Columbus and Collen Pulfer of Bellefontaine; stepsisters, Keely Pummel of Russells Point and Kerri Luttrell of Upper Arlington; maternal grandmother, Miriam Grant of Bellefontaine; paternal grandparents, Jackie and Gary Baxter of Columbus Grove and Lew and Wanda Simpson of Russells Point; and paternal stepgrandparents, Bill and Vicky Arnold of Belle Center and Judy and Jack Brady of Plain City.

A corrections officer, he was a wrestler and a 2000 graduate of Indian Lake High School.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where a funeral begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial is in the Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Indian Lake High School Wrestling Program.
